June 1 -Last weekend I made arrangements for a baby shower.  The lucky gal was having twins, a boy and a girl!!  I made two arrangements. The blue one had blue hydrangeas and blue delphiniums.  The pink arrangement showcased stargazer lilies -- what a lovely fragrance!BabyBoyArrangement.jpgBabyGirlArrangement.jpg

Purple is such a popular accent color for weddings.  This is a bouquet we made for the bride married on Saturday.  She wanted shades of purple and a bit of green combined in more of a relaxed bouquet.  We used agapanthus, calla lilies, hyacinths, green button mums and misty blue.  She was thrilled with the outcome!

Two of the reception tables that really need a centerpiece are the place card table and the gift table.  Here is one example from Friday's wedding, the bride mainly wanted white and red tulips for her lovely springtime wedding.SaraTplacecard.jpg

Royal Wedding Florals

It is just over 24 hours before the Royal Wedding and there has been a lot of spectulation as far as the flowers.  We do know that there will be 6  20' high English Field Maple and 2 Hornbeam trees in the Abbey - all growing in giant planters.  After May 6, the trees will be planted in Highgrove Gardens with the other flowers either being donated or replaced.

I always make the bridal bouquets the "day of", that way the flowers are at their best.  The bride wanted white hydrangeas and yellow roses (her accent color) for her bridal bouquet.  That combo always makes for a lovely bouquet!

Just a preview of one of the arrangements for tomorrow's wedding.  The bride has chosen yellow as the main accent color.  This will be placed on one of the candelabras on the altar.

The Miramonte Lodge (1200 Miramonte St./Broomfield 80020) hosted The Wedding Connectors last evening.  It is a great venue for weddings and other special events.  They have an outdoor gazebo for any type of ceremony.  In the lodge there is a large banquet hall that is separated from the bar/cocktail area by a double sided fireplace.  Their caterers create delectable appetizers and mouthwatering buffet dinners.  Check them out!

Carolyn chose more of a traditional and elegant look for her wedding.  We used large white calla lilies, green hypericium berries, lavender and the bouquet was wrapped in monstera leaves.  It was a church wedding and we did two large altar arrangements and also a garland which was placed around the unity candle.Carolyn1.jpgCarolyn2.jpg

Katherine was married at the Willow Ridge Manor and the ceremony was held outdoors.  The pew bows had pink flowers which continued with the same floral theme as the wedding.  They drew the focus to the aisle where the wedding party would be coming down.  Everybody's Favorite DJ, Jeff Donovan, was the DJ and as always, did a great job!Katherine1.jpg

Katherine chose bright pink flowers as her bridal theme.  Her bouquet consisted of bright pink roses, Dolce Vita gerbera daisies and lily grass.  The centerpieces also continued with this theKatherine2.jpgme.  We used pink Bonaparte gerbera daisies floating in low, round bowls.  Katherine had the mothers each carry a posy rather than the traditional corsage.  It was a fun idea and it fit in very well with the atmosphere of the wedding.

Emily had a very relaxed look to her bridal bouquet.  It was yellow roses, yellow cushion mums with salal and ruscus greenery.  The bridal venue was Chatfield Botanic Gardens and since it was an outdoor venue, the theme of the centerpieces was relaxed too.  The vases were actually mason jars filled with yellow sunflowers, beargrass, solidago and buplurum.Emily1.jpgEmily2.jpg

Sherman St. Event Center

Many thanks to the Sherman Street Event Center (1770 Sherman, Denver 80203) for being such gracious hosts to The Wedding Connectors for our monthly Wedding Connectors On Tour.  The Event Center actually houses three venues.  This beautiful historic facility is available for public and private events from proms, theatre productions and holiday parties to concerts, fundraisers, wedding receptions and elegant galas.

Reason for a "day of" event planner
I did the flowers for a wedding on 6/21/11.  Part of the bride's dress needed pinning up and the mom of the bride and the bridesmaid weren't sure how to do it.  Nicole Harrington (Bella Vista Weddings & Events) was helping out Jessica Campbell (Meant to Bee) and Nicole came to the rescue!  Nicole had the pins and pinned up the dress perfectly.  The bride, mom of the bride, and the bridesmaid were all relieved and could get on with enjoying every minute of a beautiful wedding.
